Leona McQuown
Leona McQuown, 92, 1200 E. Seventh,
school teacher, bookkeeper of Walton Co-op and postal service
employee, died Wednesday (July 22, 1998) at Presbyterian Manor.
She was born Sept. 30, 1905, in Walton
to Willison H. and Nettie (Denny) McQuown.
She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church in Newton. She was a lifetime area resident where
she was a Walton High School graduate and attended Emporia Teachers
College.
Survivors include: 11 nieces and
nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews; 36 great-great-nieces and
nephews; and seven great-great-great-nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Friday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Keating
from First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the
Walton Cemetery. Friends may call until 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
the Walton Volunteer Fire Department and Presbyterian Manor Good
Samaritan Fund, in care of the funeral home.
