Agnes Mary Gronau
Agnes Mary Gronau, 82, 4825 S. Kansas,
homemaker, retired waitress and Avon saleswoman, died Thursday (July
23, 1998) at Columbia Wesley Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 8, 1915, in rural
Harvey County to Frank Endres and Elizabeth (Thilmony) Endres. She
married Albert M. Gronau on May 4, 1937, at St. Mary's Catholic
Church in Newton. He preceded her in death May 24, 1983.
She was a member of the St. Mary's
Church and an active member of St. Mary's Alter Society.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert
Gronau of Fall River and James Gronau of Newton; three daughters,
Jeannie Senn, Rita Gronau and Susan Gronau, all of Newton; three
sisters, Marie McQuire of Santa Fe, N.M., Alice Smith of Wichita and
Carolyn Davidson of Newton; one brother, George Endres of Newton;
eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also was
preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Rhodes and Frances Endres;
two brothers, Edward Endres and Richard Endres; step-mother, Aetna
Endres; and one grandchild, Cary Gronau.
Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday
at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Monday also at the church with Father Ken Schuckman officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to
9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral
Home.
Memorials have been established with
Newton Fire/EMS and Harvey County Emergency Service in care of the
funeral home.
