Jack B Thomas
Jack B Thomas, 64, 510 Old Main,
retired Western Resources (formerly KPL) after 28 years, died Monday
(July 27, 1998) at his residence.
He was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Sedgwick
to William Blaine "Barney" and Naomi (Behymer) Thomas. He
married Barbara Gaiser on Nov. 25, 1955, at First Methodist Church in
Newton. She survives of the home.
He was a member of Sedgwick Christian
Church in Sedgwick, Eagles Aeries No. 2516 in Newton where he held
all offices except secretary and also was formerly State Aeries
Trustee of the Eagles Lodge and International Order of Foresters.
He served in the United States Army
from 1956 to 1958.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Cindy Conlon and Valerie Davis, both of Newton; two sons, Eric Thomas
of Newton and Randy Thomas of Moundridge; four sisters, Mabel
Stamback of Sedgwick, Beverly Hilberling of Owasso, Okla., and Judy
Spencer and Lorna Preston, both of Newton; three brothers, Bill
Thomas of Augusta, Jerry Thomas of Newton and Allen Thomas of
Sedgwick; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kent
Rogers from Salem United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be
in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday with family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the
funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
the Central Homecare and Hospice and Fraternal Order of Eagles "Camp
Discovery Diabetic Childrens Fund" in care of the funeral home.
