Selma S. Schmidt
Selma S. Schmidt, 87, 420 E. 23rd, of
North Newton, homemaker, died Monday (July 27, 1998) at her
residence.
She was born Sept. 15, 1910, in
Hillsboro to Henry T. Penner and Matilda (Schroeder) Penner. She
married John F. Schmidt on Sept. 5, 1936, in Hillsboro. He preceded
her in death April 19, 1997.
She was a member of Bethel College
Mennonite Church in North Newton. She came to North Newton in 1947.
Survivors include: one son, Howard John
Schmidt of Newton; three daughters, Lynette June House of Vineland,
Ontario ,Canada, Angela Rae Boho of Kildeer, Ill., and Delene Kay
Schmidt of Newton; and two grandchildren. She also was preceded in
death by one brother, Milton A. Penner.
Funeral services will be announced
later by Petersen Funeral Home.
