Mary Ellen Linly

Mary Ellen Linly, 103, formerly of 407 W. Fifth, homemaker, died Wednesday (Aug. 12, 1998) at Christ Villa Nursing Center in Wichita.

She was born April 24, 1895, in Azle, Texas, to Frank and Sarah King. She married Momie Linly Nov. 17, 1937, in Newton. He preceded her in death Aug. 15, 1956.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Newton. She lived in Newton for many years.

Survivors include: two nephews, William L. Wilson Sr., of Los Angeles and Willie Loyd King of Northern California; one niece, Lillie Mae King of Amarillo, Texas; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church in Newton with the Rev. Leonard Gray officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with Second Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
