Prudencia E. "Helen" "Nena"
Corona, 69, 1009 N. Blaine, owner and operator of Nena's Catering,
died Monday (Aug. 31, 1998) at her residence.
She was born April 28, 1929, in Newton
to Julio and Emelia (Rincon) Mosqueda. She married Lupe Corona on
July 3, 1948, in Newton. He survives of the home.
She was a member of Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. She catered for special
occasions for 28 years and seven years ago she started Nena's
Catering Service. She was involved in fund raisers for Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church and other special needs.
Other survivors include: one son,
Miguel Corona of Newton; four daughters, Annabelle Camacho, Marie
Elena Southern, Amanda Fischer and Rosalee Sanchez, all of Newton;
four brothers, Pablo Mosqueda of Chula Vista, Calif., Mike Mosqueda
and Pedro Mosqueda, both of Newton, and Hector Mosqueda of Peabody;
six sisters, Mary Pacheco of Peabody, Isidra Boroughs of San Diego,
Rebecca Garza of Sacramento, Calif., Susan Mosqueda and Olivia
Goodall, both of Newton and Rosalina Galle of Florida; foster
children, Peter D. Unpingco and family, all of El Cajon, Calif.; 22
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents, one son, Guadalupe Corona; one brother, Julio
Mosqueda; and twin great-granddaughters.
Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 10
a.m. Friday at the church with Father John Hotze officiating. Burial
will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral
Home.
