Mario Gilbert Rodriguez
Mario Gilbert Rodriguez, 31, of Newton
and Wichita, senior unit leader for United Methodist Youthville in
Newton, died Wednesday (Sept. 9, 1998) in Newton.
He was born June 30, 1967, in Newton to
Mario and Rachel (Tafolla) Rodriguez. They survive of Newton.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
Church and Knights of Columbus, both of Newton. He was a graduate of
Newton High School, attended The University of Kansas and graduated
from Wichita State University with a bachelor of science in political
science. He also graduated from Conception Seminary College in
Conception, Mo. He was supervisor over all cottages at Youthville and
directly over cottage C-4.
Other survivors include: two brothers,
Robert Rodriguez of Christianburg, Va., and Jeffrey Rodriguez of
Newton; one sister, Shelley Young of Newton; maternal grandfather,
Salvador Tafolla of Newton; paternal grandmother, Isabell Rodriguez
of Newton; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Rosary service will be at 8 p.m.
Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be at 10
a.m. Friday at the church with Father Ken Schuckman officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to
9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
United Methodist Youthville in care of the funeral home.
