Mary D. Wheeler

Mary D. Wheeler, 67, homemaker, 415 N. Elm, died Friday (Sept. 25, 1998) at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus.

She was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Lucedale, Miss., to Melvin and Mary Jane (Williams) Randall. She married Bob L. Wheeler on Oct. 29, 1976, in Osage Beach, Okla. He survives of Newton.

She was a member of Women's Auxiliary in Newton including the VFW, American Legion and Eagles.

Other survivors include: one son, Mike Parks of Arkansas City; four daughters, Janie O'mara of Sunnyvale, Calif., Carolyn Thompson and Lisa Thompson, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Donna K. Wheeler and Pam Nelson, both of Newton; 33 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Donna Havens; one son, Gary Wheeler; two sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Larry D. Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home.
