Erma E. Goering
MOUNDRIDGE -- Erma E. Goering, 83, of
Moundridge died Friday (Sept. 25, 1998) at Memorial Home in
Moundridge.
She was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Harvey
County, the daughter of Henry and Lydia (Stucky) Goering. She was a
lifetime Moundridge resident.
She was a former elementary teacher in
Paris and Mound schools, worked 27 years at Memorial Home and was a
homemaker.
She belonged to Eden Mennonite Church
in rural Moundridge.
On Oct. 25, 1940, she married Daniel W.
Goering in Moundridge. He died Sept. 6, 1991.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol
Thomas of Moundridge, DeLores (Laurel) Gugler of Toronto, Ontario,
Canada, Elvera Johnson of Topeka and Clare Goering of McPherson; four
brothers, Roland Goering of North Newton, Wilbert Goering and Vernon
Goering, both of Moundridge, and Howard Goering of Peabody; five
sisters, Florence Swanson of Prairie Grove, Ark., Welma Thiessen of
Peabody, Ellen Schrag of McPherson, Lorita Regier of Burrton and Joy
Thiessen of Moundridge; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;
and three step-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a
granddaughter, Dawn Janelle Gugler; one brother-in-law, Harley
Goering; and three sisters, Welda Schmidt and two infant sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge. Pastors Lee
Lever and Donovan Graber will officiate.
Burial will be in Eden Church Cemetery
in rural Moundridge. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at
Harder Kaufman Funeral Home in Moundridge.
