Elmer Lee Matthews
Elmer Lee Matthews, 47, former roofer,
died Saturday (Oct. 3, 1998) at Kansas State Correctional Facility in
Lansing.
He was born Aug. 10, 1951, in Duplie
County, N.C., to Robert and Aretha (Everette) Matthews.
He was a Lansing resident and was
formerly of Newton.
Survivors include: one son, Elmer Lee
Schwartz of Kearney, Ariz.; one daughter, Alberta Aretha Matthews of
Newton; three brothers, Earl Matthews and Nathaniel Matthews, both of
Mt. Olive, N.C., and David Lee Mathews of Beulaville, N.C.; and three
sisters, Dorothy Jean Matthews and Madica Ward, both of Mt. Olive,
N.C., and Doratha Pearsall of Goldsboro, N.C.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today
at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Broadway Colonial Funeral Home was in
charge of the funeral arrangements.
