Marlow H. Unruh
HESSTON -- Marlow H. Unruh, 56, of
Hesston died Thursday (Oct. 15, 1998) at the University of Kansas
Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
He was born May 17, 1942, at Goessel to
Henry G. and Sarah (Enns) Unruh. He was park facilities
superintendent for the city of Hesston for 38 years. He also operated
Unruh Clock Repair Service for 12 years.
He had been on the Harvey County Park
board for nine years. He was a member of the Faith Mennonite Church
in Newton. He grew up in the Goessel area before moving to Hesston in
1960.
He married Janice K. Goering Oct. 18,
1963, at Pretty Prairie. She survives of Hesston.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Jill Farias of Laredo, Texas, and Amy Campbell of Newton; three
brothers, Lavern Unruh and Darrell Unruh, both of Goessel, and
Harland Unruh of Newton; one sister, Melba Woelk of Goessel; and one
grandson, Anthony Farias.
Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Monday
at the Faith Mennonite Church in Newton with the Rev. Gordon Smith
officiating. Burial will be in Hesston Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with
the American Cancer Society.
