Dale L. Pierce
Dale L. Pierce, 78, 1035 S.E. Third,
retired Kansas Highway Patrol supervisor, died Monday (Oct. 19, 1998)
at Kansas Christian Home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Chase
County to Earl S. and Martha (Spitler) Pierce. He married Juanita J.
Carpenter June 28, 1945, in Jackson, Miss. She survives of Newton.
He was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Newton. His former address was 407 Bender Lane in Newton,
moving to Kansas Christian Home in 1994. He served in the Army Air
Corps and was a B-17 pilot during World War II. He also was a former
company commander in the Newton Army Reserve.
Other survivors include: one son,
Kenneth Pierce of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Max Pierce of Newton
and Virgil W. Pierce of Topeka; and two grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday at First Baptist Church with Pastor Alden Dick officiating.
Private burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call
from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
First Baptist Church and the Alzheimers Foundation in care of the
funeral home.
