Clyde H. Jantz
HESSTON -- Clyde H. Jantz, 86, died
Thursday (Oct. 22, 1998) at Halstead Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1912, in
Greensburg to John B. and Elizabeth (Wadel) Jantz. He married Erma
Loucks Aug. 31, 1938, in Canton. She preceded him in death Dec. 27,
1971. He married Anna (Reimer) Classen Aug. 3, 1985. She survives.
He grew up on a farm at Greensburg. He
owned and operated a wholesale-retail milk business in Canton. He
moved from Canton to Hesston in 1959. He was a member of the Hesston
Mennonite Church.
Other survivors include: one son,
Darrell Jantz of Duncan, Okla.; two daughters, Clydene Gingerich of
Seoul, South Korea, and LuAnn Eichelberger of Hesston; four
step-daughters, Irene Armstrong of Wichita, Ruth Ebersole of
Hutchinson, Anna Joy Troyer of Hesston and Wilma Miller of Scottdale,
Pa.; four brothers, Curtis Jantz and Clarence Jantz, both of Atwater,
Calif., Chester Jantz of Greensburg and Clifford Jantz of Canton; two
sisters, Leona Eason of Atwater, Calif., and Edith Unruh of Newton;
six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight
step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. He also was
preceded in death by one brother, Charles Jantz; and one sister,
Betty Otto.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at Hesston Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the Eastlawn
Cemetery near Hesston. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday with
family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in
Hesston.
Memorials have been established with
Hesston College and Union Rescue Mission in Wichita in care of the
funeral home.
