Paul G. Regier
ELBING -- Paul G. Regier, 87, retired
farmer, died Thursday (Oct. 22, 1998) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 15, 1911, in
Porterville, Calif., to Abraham and Emilie (Schirmer) Regier. He
married Blanche Rosfeld Sept. 20, 1934, in Elbing. She preceded him
in death February 1982. He married Marian Sommers Ewert Nov. 17,
1984, in Newton. She survives of Elbing.
He was a member of the Zion Mennonite
Church in Elbing and Elbing City Council for many years. He attended
grade school in District No. 85 north of Elbing.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Judy Janzen and Ruby Kurr, both of Newton; one sister, Johanna
Mildrum Crossley of Paradise, Calif.; two step-sons, Tony Ewert of
Lawrence and Tim Ewert of Houston; three step-daughters, Betty
Wohlgemuth and Carolyn Adell, both of Houston and Faith Hobbs of
Newton; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 12
step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. He also was
preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Regier, Theodore Regier
and Phillip Regier.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Monday at Zion Mennonite Church with the Rev. Floyd Born officiating.
Burial will be in the Zion Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Elbing.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
the Zion Mennonite Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
