Mary L. Weidenbener

Mary L. Weidenbener, 83, retired school teacher and homemaker, died Sunday (Nov. 1, 1998) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born March 21, 1915, in Tuscumbia, Ala., to Logan Thomas and Mary Lamenda (Morrison) Stokes. She married Silas Paul Weidenbener May 7, 1944, in Marion. He survives of Newton.

She has been a Newton resident since 1980. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Other survivors include: two sons, James Q. Weidenbener of Salina and Gerald Shirley; one step-son, Milton W. Weidenbener of Belle Plain; one sister, Sarah E. Meier of Bermuda Dunes, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with Joseph Magathan officiating. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.
