Cecil G. Jantz
Cecil G. Jantz, 78, 218 S.W. Sixth,
retired co-owner of Jantz-Woolery Plumbing and Heating, died today
(Nov. 3, 1998) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
He was born Feb. 10, 1920, in
Chickasha, Okla., to Amos B. and Adena (Nichol) Jantz. He married
Florence Dorothy Stahlheber Aug. 16, 1942, in Newton. She preceded
him in death.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran
Church. He has lived in Newton since the 1940s.
He served in the Army Air Corps during
World War II. He was an avid golfer at the Newton Public Golf Course.
Survivors include: one son, Ted Jantz
of Newton; three daughters, Joan Penrose of Hayward, Calif., Marsha
Thiesen of Newton and Patricia Turnage of Castro Valley, Calif.; one
sister, Thelma Koehn of Leland, Miss.; five brothers, Frank Jantz of
Montezuma, Martin Jantz of Halstead, Paul Jantz of Oakdale, La.,
Robert Jantz of Lake Charles, La., and Eugene Jantz of De Ridder,
Calif.; and eight grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his
parents; one brother, Lawrence Jantz; and one sister, Helen.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Gloe officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory. Friends may call from 1
to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with family
greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral
Home.
Memorials have been established with
Zion Lutheran Church 2000 Building Fund and Central Homecare and
Hospice in care of the funeral home.
