Wanda M. Franzen
Wanda M. Franzen, 79, died Thursday
(Nov. 5, 1998) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton.
She was born Nov. 24, 1918, in
Hillsboro to J.H. and Katharina (Quiring) Franzen.
She was a kindergarten school teacher
at Walnut School in Emporia for 44 years. She grew up in Hillsboro,
lived in Emporia from 1944 to 1993 and then moved to Newton. She was
a member of First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro, Association for
Childhood Education International, American Association of University
Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, Pi Lambda Theta, Emporia National Education
Association and Kansas National Education Association.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothea
Franzen and Ruth Franzen, both of Newton.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m.
Saturday at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. Keith
Harder officiating. Private burial will be in the Haven of Rest
Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hillsboro
Memorial Chapel.
Memorials have been established with
First Mennonite Church and Alzheimers Disease Research in care of the
funeral home.
