Elizabeth Vance McClymonds Roberts
LAWRENCE -- Elizabeth Vance McClymonds
Roberts, 85, formerly of Walton, died Saturday (Nov. 21, 1998) at her
home in Lawrence.
She was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Walton
to Dr. R.C. and Beulah (Gilchrist) McClymonds. She married Thorold
Eugene Roberts. He preceded her in death in 1957.
She attended Kansas State University
from 1931 to 1932. She moved to Lawrence in 1958. She worked for
several years as a real estate sales agent and began her career as a
dormitory manager in the University of Kansas Housing Department in
1966, where she retired from this post in 1983.
Survivors include: one daughter,
Clenece Roberts Hills of Lawrence; three sons, Thorold (Tod) Roberts
of Sarasota, Fla., Bruce Roberts of Lawrence and Bryson Roberts of
Kansas City; one brother, Samuel Erskine McClymonds of Wichita; nine
grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at noon Friday at the
Walton Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at
Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence.
