M. Nola Zuercher

WHITEWATER -- M. Nola Zuercher, 85, retired school teacher, died Monday (Nov. 23, 1998) in Wichita.

She was born Jan. 16, 1913, in rural Whitewater to Robert E. Lee and Lillie Belle (Montgomery) Gray. She married Victor Zuercher Aug. 13, 1935, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of The Federated Church in Whitewater. She lived in Wichita and was formerly of Whitewater. She had a masters degree in education and taught in country schools around Whitewater and then taught in public schools in Elbing, Whitewater and Wichita. She taught grades one through 12 during her teaching career.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. Victor Zuercher Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Dr. Diane Zuercher of Wichita; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at The Federated Church with Pastors Arnold Ensz and Scott Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Whitewater Cemetery in rural Whitewater. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bob Lamb Funeral Home Chapel in Whitewater.
