Eva Mae True
INDEPENDENCE -- Eva Mae True, 82, of
Independence, died Wednesday (Nov. 25, 1998) at Mercy Hospital.
She was born Feb. 15, 1916, in Mulvane
to Cash Henry McGinnis and Belle Lottie (Shafer) McGinnis. She
married Jack True Nov. 17, 1934, in Newkirk, Okla. He preceded her in
death March 3, 1963.
She grew up and attended school in
Winfield. She and her husband lived in Whitewater from 1948 to 1967.
For several years she was employed at the Prairie View Mental Health
Center in Newton.
Survivors include: four sons, Jack True
of Troy, Mo., Jim True and Tom True, both of Independence and John
True of Council Grove; two sisters, Lucille Schyler and Maxine
Dimaree, both of Winfield; 11 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one brother
and one sister.
Graveside services were today at
Whitewater Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel in
Independence.
