Verne A. Graber

Verne A. Graber, 82, 2314 Berry of North Newton, retired employee of Full Vision in Newton, retiring in 1979, died Wednesday (Dec. 2, 1998) at Halstead Hospital.

He was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Reno County to John P. and Anna Katherine (Goering) Graber. He married Delia Goering Aug. 11, 1947, in Moundridge. She survives of North Newton.

He was a member of Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton. He was a volunteer with the Community Playschool.


Other survivors include: one daughter, Paula Morris of Wichita; four sisters, Margie Dyck of Moundridge, Evelyn Koehn of Wichita, Helen Bahre of Lyons and Mildred Bartrug of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Jobi Pierce of Kansas City, Mo., and Bradi Okle of Minneapolis; and one great-grandchild, Payton Pierce of Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willard Graber and Clarence Graber; and one sister, Edna Graber.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel College Mennonite Church with the Revs. Norma Johnson and Steve Yoder officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with Community Playschool or General Conference Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
