Linda M. Janzen
HESSTON -- Linda M. Janzen, 99, former
registered nurse for 23 years, working at the Bethel Deaconess
Hospital in Newton, died Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998) at Schowalter Villa
in Hesston.
She was born Dec. 6, 1899, in Newton to
Abraham and Anna (Enz) Peters. She married Herman S. Janzen May 8,
1927, in Newton. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of First Mennonite
Church in Newton and Bethel Deaconess Hospital/Bethel College Nursing
Alumni Association. She graduated from Bethel Academy and attended
nursing training at the Bethel School of Nursing. She enjoyed
gardening, quilting, needle work and crocheting.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard
Janzen and Eldon Janzen, both of Newton; one daughter, Anna Marie
Hiebert of Westminister, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by five brothers
and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at First Mennonite Church in Newton with the Rev. Clarence
Rempel of the church and Chaplain Mary Dyck from Schowalter Villa
officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may
call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with
family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral
Home.
