DeVere E. Godsey
DeVere E. Godsey, 85, 316 S. Duncan,
assistant superintendent of tooling for Boeing Aircraft after 33
years of service, died Monday (Dec. 21, 1998) at Halstead Hospital.
He was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Holton to
Milo and Lela (CampBell) Godsey. He married Eunice L. Stowell Sept.
4, 1937, in Washington, Kan. She survives of the home.
He was a member of First United
Presbyterian Church, Median Shrine and Masonic Bodies, all of Newton.
He lived in Newton for more than 55 years.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Connie Mae Dixson of Wichita and Beverly J. Gilmore of Ashland; one
son, LaMont E. Godsey of Junction City; 10 grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two
sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at First United Presbyterian Church in Newton with the Rev.
James Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Gardens of
Memory. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Petersen
Funeral Home.
