James L. 'Jim' Bernhardt
James L. "Jim" Bernhardt, 55,
1501 N. Plum, driver for Wenger Oil Co. in Newton, died Monday (Dec.
21, 1998) at Newton.
He was born May 29, 1943, in Lost
Springs to Victor and Doris (Benhardt) Bernhardt. His mother survives
of Marion. He married Suzanne "Sue" Charles April 3, 1982,
in Council Grove. She survives of the home.
He was baptized and confirmed in the
Trinity Lutheran Church in Ramona. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Other survivors include: two
step-daughters, Terry Walker of Hillsboro and Heidi Vicenti of
Newton; one sister, Maxine Mueller of Corpus Christi, Texas; and 11
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and one
step-son, Rocky Raymond.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry
Morgan from First Nazarene Church in Newton officiating. Burial will
be in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
