Earla Travis
PEORIA, Ariz. -- Earla Travis, 92,
formerly of Hesston, died Saturday (Dec. 26, 1998) at Peoria, Ariz.
She was born June 6, 1906, to Hattie
and Ira Hess. She married Jay R. Travis in 1936. He preceded her in
death in 1986.
She grew up in Hesston and taught
school in the area. She and her husband lived in the western states,
mostly Colorado and Arizona.
Survivors include: one daughter, Judith
Copek of Wellesley, Mass.; two grandsons; one niece; and two nephews.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, William Hess,
Leonard Hess and Ira Hess Jr.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Hesston
Cemetery with the Rev. Mary K. Bond officiating.
Memorials have been established with
Hesston College in care of Miller Funeral Home in Hesston.
