Clifford Cummings
MOUNDRIDGE -- Clifford Cummings, 80,
died today (Jan. 25, 1999) at Highland Manor in McPherson. Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Mike Keating from First United Methodist Church in
Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Hesston City Cemetery. More
information will be announced later by Petersen Funeral Home.
Clifford C. Cummings
MCPHERSON -- Clifford C. Cummings,
80, formerly self-employed as a carpenter and steel building
sales/erection contractor, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1999) at Highland
Manor in McPherson. He was born March 25, 1918, in
Hesston to Pliney and Katie (Rice) Cummings. He married Jane Inghram
Feb. 2, 1941, in McPherson. She preceded him in death Dec. 10, 1989.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton, VFW No.
971 and past member of Newton Lions Club. He was a lifetime Harvey
County resident and a Newton High School graduate. He served as a
U.S. Navy veteran during World War II. Survivors include: one
daughter, Sherry A. Funk of Moundridge; three brothers, Ardeth
Cummings, Kenneth Cummings and Rodney Cummings, all of Eugene, Ore.;
one sister, Juanita Looney of Eugene, Ore.; one grandchild; and one
great-grandchild. He also was preceded in death by his parents; four
brothers, Eugene, Harold, Howard and Kermitt; one sister, Velma; and
one grandson, Terry L. Funk. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Keating
of First United Methodist Church in Newton officiating. Burial will
be in the Hesston Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at
the funeral home. Memorial have been established with First United
Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
