Anna Mae Shenk Kelley

HUTCHINSON -- Anna Mae Shenk Kelley, 84, former store clerk for Woolworths in Newton, died Tuesday (Jan. 26, 1999) at Dillon Living Center. She was born March 14, 1914, in Hesston to Mose B. and Ellen (Landis) Shenk. She married James E. Kelley in 1934 in El Dorado. He preceded her in death in 1974. She had been a Hutchinson resident since 1989, moving from Newton. She was a member of Church of the Holy Cross in Hutchinson. Survivors include: one son, Ron Kelley of Hutchinson; one brother, Paul Shenk of Carlisle, Pa.; one sister, Grace Brown of Denver; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by one son, James E. Kelley Jr.; and five sisters, Ruth Unruh, Mamie Sutherland, Erma Henard, Mary Ellen Valen and Verda Bradley. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Church of the Holy Cross in Hutchinson with Father Brian Egan officiating. Parish Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday also at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson. Memorials have been established with Trinity Catholic High School in care of the funeral home.
