Obituary

Marcile E. Beardmore, 76, 115 W. Ninth, a retired JC Penney Catalog Store employee, died Monday (Feb. 1, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Aulne to Earl and Matilda (Krueger) Avery. She married Delbert E. Beardmore Nov. 2, 1949, in Fairbury, Neb. He preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1975. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion, both of Newton. She was a 1941 graduate of Marion High School. Survivors include: two daughters, Cheryl Nunns of Newton and Deborah Topham of Fort Smith, Ark.; one son, Michael E. Beardmore of Port Barre, La.; two sisters, Rosie Gutsch of McPherson and June Davis of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bill Avery and Monette Avery. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Topham from Dover, Ark., officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
