Bernice H. Hunter

Bernice H. Hunter, 82, 3001 Ivy Drive inNorth Newton, homemaker and former nurse aid for Bethel Deaconess Home in Newton, died Thursday (Feb. 4, 1999) at Newton Medical Center. She was born May 4, 1916, in rural Marion County to Jacob and Marie (Ratzlaff) Quiring. She married Charles Hunter Jan. 18, 1945, in Newton. He preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1977. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Newton. Survivors include: one son, Steve C. Hunter of McPherson; one brother, Harvey Quiring of Newton; and two grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Orville Quiring; and one sister, Mildred Quiring. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery with Chaplain Amanda Rempel rom Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Memorials have been established with Parkinsons Disease Foundation or Kidron Bethel Village in care of the funeral home.
