Onnie B. Roberson

Onnie B. Roberson, 100, 1035 S.E. Third, homemaker, died Friday at Newton Medical Center. She was born Feb. 14, 1898, in Wieland, Texas, to John Padillard and Ella Brown. She married Paul B. Roberson Oct. 25, 1916, in Greenville, Texas. He preceded her in death July 1972. She lived in Lyons before moving to Newton in 1972. Survivors include: two sons, Raymond Roberson of Newton and Floyd Roberson of Garden City; one daughter, Margie Bernhardt of Newton; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Earl Roberson; a daughter, Irene Roberson; two brothers, Carl Brown and Ollie Brown; and three sisters, Opal Woodard, Lillie Taylor and Sadie Brown. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home chapel in Newton with the Rev. Carolyn Schwarz of Kansas Christian Home presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Central Homecare and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
