Herman R. Moyer

ROCKAWAY BEACH, Mo. -- Herman R. Moyer, 83, of Rockaway Beach, Mo., died Wednesday (Feb. 3, 1999) at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Ill. He was born May 27, 1915, in Newton to John F. and Mary (Regier) Moyer. He married Mildred Gibbs Oct. 2, 1941, in Peoria. She survives. He was a steel cutter for LeTourneau and WABCO in Peoria for 43 years, retiring in 1979, after which he moved to Missouri. He was a 1933 graduate of Newton High School. Other survivors include: one son, Richard Moyer of North Pekin, Ill.; three daughters, Marilyn Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, Marge Lewis of Ashland, Ill., and Jeanne Kelly of Crystal Lake, Ill.; one brother, J. Harold Moyer of North Newton;10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington, Ill., where he had been a member. Burial was in the Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorial services will be Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Branson, Mo. Memorials have been established with American Heart Association.
