Helen V. Hauck

Helen V. Hauck, 90, of Newton, died Thursday (Feb. 11, 1999) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton. She was born Sept. 29, 1908, in Aurora, Mo., to Charles W. and Maggie Susan (Franklin) Horn. On Jan. 2, 1929, she married Lawrence E. Hauck in Newton. He died Oct. 23, 1979. She was a homemaker and had worked for Harry Johnson Insurance Co., then Goering Insurance as a secretary/bookkeeper. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, J. Harold Hauck of Wichita and C. Wendell Hauck of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Cox of the University Congregational Church in Wichita officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
