Jake Becker

MOUNDRIDGE -- Jake Becker, 82, retired farmer, died Friday (Feb. 12, 1999) at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge. He was born March 26, 1916, in McPherson County to Peter J. and Katie (Koehn) Becker. He married Julia Koehn July 28, 1940, in Halstead. She survives of Moundridge. He was a lifetime McPherson County resident. He was a member of Lone Tree Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Galva. Other survivors include: three sons, Milferd Becker of Halstead and Vernon R. Becker and Howard L. Becker, both of Galva; one daughter, Ruby Goucher of Galva; three brothers, Kermit Becker of Montezuma and Urfa Becker and Edwin Becker, both of Moundridge; one sister, Myrtle Unruh of Moundridge; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were today at Lone Tree Church of God in Christ, Mennonite with Ministers Roger Unruh, Darrell Becker and Gary Nightingale officiating. Burial was in the Lone Tree Church Cemetery. Memorials have been established with Sunflower School in care of Moundridge Funeral Home in Moundridge.
