Emanuel E. Oblander

HILLSBORO -- Emanuel E. Oblander, 93, retired accountant from the International Harvester Co., died Wednesday (Feb. 24, 1999) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. He was born Nov. 8, 1905, in Monument to David G. and Christina (Herdt) Oblander. He married Alvina F. Lorenz Sept. 25, 1927, in Durham. She survives of Newton. Other survivors include: one son, Stuart D. Oblander of Arvada, Colo.; one brother, Virgil W. Oblander of Newton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Oblander and Carl Oblander; and one sister, Louise. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Carolyn Schwarz officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Park Cemetery in Durham. Friends may all from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hillsboro Memorial Chapel. Memorials have been established with Central Homecare and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
