Whether over a meal of rice and curry, or shariing a cup of chai or mending the clothes of the village women, or sharing her stories; whether in India, Nigeria or Ghana, or Botswana or Hesston; to the end of her life, Irene Weaver simply loved people into God's kingdom.
She ws born in Bilaspur, India on January 23, 1910 and passed away November 22, 2013.
Her parents, Clifford and Lydia Lehman; sister, Carolyn Bender; her brother, Waldo Lehman; her husband, Edwin Weaver; her daughter, Carolyn Esch and her daughhter, Betty Shima, all preceded her in death.
Still living are; son, Jerry and wife, Cathy, Kansas; son-in-law, Vic Esch, Colorado; Carolyn and Vic's children; Mike Shima, Colorado; Deb Rose and husband Rick, Colorado; Tom Shima and wife, Shima and wife, Michelle, Kansas; Rod Shima and wife, Lan, Massachusetts; Jerry and Cathy's children, David and wife Emily, Kansas; Bruce and wife, Lori, Kansas; Rick and wife Jill, Kansas and 15 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate her life will be Saturday, December 31, 2013 at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Hesston, Kansas
