Marie Ann Temple
EMPORIA -- Marie Ann Temple, 92, died
Wednesday (March 3, 1999) at Newman Memorial County Hospital in
Emporia.
She was born March 15, 1906, in Goessel
to Cornelius and Helena (Schmidt) Frey. She married Mac L. Temple
Dec. 19, 1931, in Newton. He survives.
She was a longtime secretary at Regier
Loans and Abstract in Newton, bookkeeper at Temple Motor Co. in
Peabody and ran her own income tax service in Newton for many years.
She moved to Emporia in 1986.
She was a member of Bethel College
Mennonite Church in Newton and attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church in
Emporia. She also was a member of VFW Auxiliary and American Legion
in Newton.
She was a Newton High School graduate
and attended Bethel College.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Shirley Slaymaker and Delores Deschner, both of Emporia; four
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by five brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home in Emporia with the Rev. Peter
Rupprecht of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Emporia officiating. A
private burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Emporia.
Memorials have been established with
Haley's SIDS Research Fund or St. Mark's Lutheran Church in care of
the funeral home.
