Ewald J. 'E.J.' Buchmueller
Ewald J. "E.J." Buchmueller,
86, formerly employed in the modification department at Boeing
Aircraft in Wichita and Hesston Corp., died Sunday (March 7, 1999) at
Friendly Acres Retirement Community.
He was born July 11, 1912, in
Jamestown, Ill., to Rev. Daniel F. and Johanna (Mehl) Buchmueller. He
married Kathryn E. Mull Aug. 1, 1943, in Newton. She survives of
Newton.
He was a member of First United Church
of Christ in Newton, where he was trustee for 16 years. He also was a
member of Newton Masonic Lodge No. 142 A.F.&A.M., Arkansas Valley
Chapter No. 27, RAM, Wichita Council No. 12 Cryptic Masons, Newton
Commandry No. 9, Knights Templar, Kansas Priory No. 33, K.U.C.H.,
Kansas Council, Grand York Rite College, River Jordan Tabernacle
H.R.A.K.T.P., Wichita Shrine No. 5, White Shrine of Jerusalem,
Calvary Conclave Red Cross of Constantine and life member of the
Knights Templar Eye Foundation. He also was member of the former
Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Newton.
Other survivors include: one son,
Charles F. Buchmueller of Pratt; and three grandchildren.
Masonic graveside services will be at
11 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Memorial service
will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Church of Christ with the
Rev. Christian Tirre officiating.
Friends may sign the register book from
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family
greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
First United Church of Christ and Knights Templar Eye Foundation in
care of the funeral home.
