Hartley G. Brunner
Hartley G. Brunner, 93, 200 S.W. 14th,
died Tuesday (March 9, 1999) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community.
He was born Oct. 3, 1905, in Macon
Township to Henry L. and Addie (Miller) Brunner. He married Helen E.
Allison Feb. 14, 1934, in Emporia. She survives of Newton.
He was a former employee of Fred Harvey
Creamery for 34 years and then for the Newton school district as a
custodian for 10 years.
He was a member of Salem United
Methodist Church in Newton. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, baseball
and basketball. He was a lifelong resident of Newton.
Other survivors include: one daughter,
Janice M. Thomas of Junction City; two granddaughters; and four
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and
two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. C. Kent Rogers
officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call
until 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home.

Salem United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
