Ralph R. Schroeder
GOESSEL -- Ralph R. Schroeder, 79,
retired farmer and former employee of Excel Industries Inc. in
Hesston for many years, died Wednesday (March 10, 1999) at Newton
Medical Center.
He was born April 10, 1919, in Goessel
to Arthur and Mary (Unruh) Schroeder. He married Ruth E. Frey Sept.
6, 1940, in Goessel. She survives.
They lived on a farm in rural Hillsboro
until moving to Goessel in 1969. He was a member of the Alexanderwohl
Mennonite Church near Goessel, where he sang in the men's chorus. He
also served on the credit committee at Crossroads Federal Credit
Union in Goessel for a number of years.
Other survivors include: one son, Ron
Schroeder of Moundridge; two daughters, Sandy Conrad of Hillsboro and
Jan Sommer of Newton; one brother, Wayne Schroeder of Wichita; one
sister, Irna Reynolds of Peach Tree, Ga.; eight grandchildren; two
step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with the Revs. James Dunn
and Mark Wiens officiating. Burial will be in the Alexanderwohl
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m.
Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.
