Meta Elizabeth Gering
HESSTON -- Meta Elizabeth Gering, 90,
homemaker, died Friday (March 12, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 11, 1908, in Freeman,
S.D., to Conrad and Beata (Walz) Ellwein. She married Walter A.
Gering June 4, 1932, in Freeman. He preceded her in death April 3,
1996.
She was a Hesston resident since 1986,
moving from Boulder, Colo. She was a member of the Eden Mennonite
Church in rural Moundridge.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lois
Jungas of Canton, Conn., and Carol Nowaczek of Boulder, Colo.; one
sister, Claudia Traeger of Oshkosh, Wis.; two grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three
brothers.
Funeral services were today at
Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston with Chaplain Mary Dyck and Pastor
Lee Lever officiating. Burial was in the Eden Mennonite Church.
Memorials have been established with
Schowalter Villa in care of Moundridge Funeral Home.
