Dean Lawrence Ryan
HOUSTON -- Dean Lawrence Ryan, 79,
office manager for Mine Safety for 35 years and former Newton
resident, died Monday (March 15, 1999) at Houston.
He was born Aug. 23, 1919, in Lincoln
to Fred and Julia (Molloy) Ryan. He married Helen L. Steinkirchner in
Newton. She survives of Houston.
He was a member of St. Francis De Sales
Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, both of Houston. He served
in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Other survivors include: three sons,
Michael L. Ryan and John F. Ryan, both of Houston, and Thomas W. Ryan
of Sugar Land, Texas; one daughter, Mary Gibbs of Denver; one
brother, Dan Ryan of Basking Ridge, N.J.; one sister, Kathleen Ryan
of Salina; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one
son, Jams Christopher and two brothers.
Rosary service will be at 7 p.m.
Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will
be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with Father Ken
Schuckman of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Friends may call
from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
St. Mary's Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
