Helen E. Harrris, 92, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Asbury Park Greenhouse in Newton. She was born September 27. 1921 in Newton to Benjamin R. and Ellen Pearl Fox Smith. On June 9, 1940 she married Paul E. Harris and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1982.
Helen attended First Church of the Nazarene in Newton. She was retired from the ordering department at Boeing Aircraft Co. in Wichita where she worked for 35 years. She was a member of the Circle 8 Sauare Dance Club of Newton and Whitewater Kids Club. She greatly spending time with her loving family.
Survivors: daughter, Helenna (Harris) Hackney of Newton and son, Darwiin (Colleen) Harris, of ElDorado; 6 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister in law, Ruth Luff of ElDorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Harris; parents; brothers, William Ezra, Leo; sisters Lillian Cave; Mary Blanche Parkeer.
Funeral services will be February 24, 2014 at Petersen Chapel. Graveside service will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
