Gary Wayne Haviland, 55, of Wichita went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2004 after a long illness. Gary was born October 6, 1958 in Newton. He spent the earlyy part of life in Newton. He had many interests, including spending many hours playinig his guitar. He was creative and wrote poetry and had several poems published throughout the years.
He deeply loved his family and was concerned with how everyone in the famiy was doing. He had a great love of the Lord and shared his faith freely.
Survivors: father, Albert Haviland of Wichita; step-father, Keith Simms of Newton; brothers, Michael and David, both of Newton; sisters, Pamela Whalen of Mesquite, Texas; Annette Alllee of Goddard; 12 nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Kindt Sims; grandparents, Floyd Havilannd, Carl Penner, Georgia Cooper Penner, Robert Kindt and Lucille Swisher Kindt..
Services were February 18 at Peterson Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
