Margaret L. McGlachlin

Margaret L. McGlachlin, 95, homemaker, 200 S.W. 14th, died Wednesday (April 7, 1999) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton.

She was born March 11, 1904, in Piqua to John and Louise (Rosensweig) Reilman. She married William J. McGlachlin Jan. 24, 1928, in Newton. He preceded her in death May 14, 1955.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar Society of the church and Senior Citizens Center, all of Newton, and Friendship Club of rural Newton.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flower gardening, especially roses and fishing in farm ponds. She was employed at the New Process Laundry and the former Axtell Hospital laundry. Before marriage she was a Southwestern Bell operator.

Survivors include: one son, Richard McGlachlin of Newton; two daughters, Wyanetta Evans of Ruidoso, N.M., and Janice Born of Newton; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by one son, Donald E. McGlachin; three brothers, Father Anthony Reilman, Frank Reilman and John D. Reilman; and five sisters, Mary Fisher, Gertrude Brandeweide, Frances DeVore, Sister Odelia Reilman and Clara Soth.

Rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday also at the church with Father Ken Schuckman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with St. Mary's Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
