E.L. 'Eddie' Alderson
E.L. "Eddie" Alderson, 84,
904 S.E. Second, died Monday (April 12, 1999) at Via Christi Regional
Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
He was born July 18, 1914, in rural
Howard to Lon C. and May A. (Parks) Alderson. He married Nadine
Anderson July 13, 1940, in El Dorado. She survives of Newton.
He was former owner and operator of
Eddie's Service Station from 1948 to 1961. He then went to work at
Hesston Corp. as a machinist, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of St. Luke
Presbyterian Church for 52 years. He lived in Newton since 1942.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry
L. Alderson of Wichita; one daughter, Linda L. Friesen of Cleveland,
Okla.; two sisters, Nova Medearis of Aurora, Colo., and Fern Walter
of Howard; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by an infant brother.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Keazirian
from St. Luke Presbyterian Church officiating. Graveside services
will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard.
Friends may call from until 9 p.m.
today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
