Myrtle Mae Gookins
HALSTEAD -- Myrtle Mae Gookins, 76,
former data processing clerk at Hertzler Clinic, died Thursday (April
15, 1999) at Halstead Hospital.
She was born June 28, 1922, in Abilene
to Mac B. and Lena (Tennant) McFarland. She married Robert Meade
Gookins July 8, 1939, in Hutchinson. He survives of the home.
She was a member of Burrton Methodist
Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
Other survivors include: one son, Mike
Gookins of San Antonio; one daughter, Karen Jones of Fordland, Mo.;
one brother, Leonard McFarland, Nampa, Idaho; three sisters, Dorothy
Grossaint of Boise Idaho, Virginia Stoker of Calistoga, Calif., and
Helen Peters of Windsor, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Monday at First United Methodist Church in Halstead with the Rev.
James A. Mardock officiating. Burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery
in Hutchinson.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
Sunday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
Memorials have been established with
American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
