Julia A. 'Judy" Spencer
Julia A. "Judy" Spencer, 61,
718 S.E. Second, homemaker and customer service employee at Braum's,
died Monday (April 19, 1999) at Columbia Wesley Medical Center in
Wichita.
She was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Sedgwick
to Blaine "Barney" and Naomi (Behymer) Thomas. She married
Lawrence "Tony" Spencer April 10, 1955, in Sedgwick. He
survives.
She was a graduate of Sedgwick High
School. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and shopping.
Other survivors include: three sons,
Anthony Spencer, Jim Spencer and Dennis Spencer, all of Newton; one
daughter, Angela Tumwa of Newton; three brothers, Bill Thomas of
Augusta, Jerry Thomas of Newton and Allen Thomas of Sedgwick; three
sisters, Mable Stamback of Sedgwick, Beverly Hilberling of Owasso,
Okla., and Lorna Preston of Newton; 12 grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one
brother, Jack Thomas.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m.
Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C. Kent Rogers
from Salem United Methodist Church in Newton officiating. Burial will
be in the Sunnydale Cemetery in rural Valley Center.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation in care of the funeral
home.
