William S. Villar, 79, died January 26, 2014 at Harry Hynes in Patient Hospice, Via Christi-St. Francis. He was born June 25, 1934 to Gerardo Villa and Florentina Mata in Emporia.
William was employed as a Boeing employee for 18 years before he became the owner of "El MexicoCafe". He owned and operated the restaurant for 32 years. William traveled the midwesst buying foods and items for his stores.
He was both congenial and"onery"and he enjoyed visiting and joking with people. While he brightened many a day with his quick wit, he was known to extend a helping hand to many. He also enjoyed road trips and loved Cadillacs, but mostly, he was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather and brother.
Survivors: children: William J. Benjamin A. Villar and Monica Ruth Presley, all of Wichita; brother, Hildo Villar of Newon; sisters; Marjorie Fisher of Wichita; Christine Kennedy of Derby and Augustina Gamboa of Goodland; 7 grandchildren; 11 great graandchildren and 5 grreat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerardo and Florentina Villar; daughter, Juanita Marie Villar; brothers, Augustine, Joseph and Arthur and sister, Guadalupe Macias.
Rosary and Mass will be January 30, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadaulpe in Newton. A dommittal will be held at St. Maary's Cemetery following the service.
