Hildred Elizabeth Fast
Hildred Elizabeth Fast, 92, of North
Newton died Tuesday (May 4, 1999) at Kidron Bethel Health Care in
North Newton.
She was born April 25, 1907, in Chase
to John and Dora (Dittmers) Linville. Her parents preceded her in
death.
She married Edwin Fast June 15, 1938,
in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1979.
She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church and Extension Home Makers United of Newton. She
moved to Newton from Hutchinson June 15, 1938. She graduated from
Raymond Rural High School in 1925, from Common School at Rice County
in 1927 and from Hoffman Memorial Hospital Training School for Nurses
in 1928.
She worked at Grace Hospital in
Hutchinson and was a private duty nurse in Russell.
Survivors include: two step-daughters,
Margaret Gilger and Barbara Camp, both of Phoenix; one brother, Loren
R. Linville of Canyon City, Calif.; one step-son, John D. Fast of
Flagstaff, Ariz.; two sisters, Winona Sloan of Newton and Erma
Proffitt of Lyons; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three
brothers, Donald R. Linville, John R. Linville and Robert D.
Linville, and two sisters, Mildred W. Linville and Dorothy Werner.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday
at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Keating of First
United Methodist Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be in
Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation time will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home.
