Roger D. Koehn,, 66, died Frriday February 28, 2014 at his Newton residence. He was born November 29, 1947 in McPhersoon to Wilbur and Luella (Koehn) Koehn. He married Rose Zimmeer and they were later divorced. On August 20, 1987, he married Marilyn K. Gunther and she survives of the home. Roger served his country in the U.S. Airforce and was a NICET level 3 certified Fire Alarm technician and he worked for a Kansas Electric Company in Newton. He was a member of Grace Community Church, Newton.
He held many certifications, working with fire alarms, grain elevators and water treatment plants. He enjoyed spending time restoring cars and working on motors and engines. He also ejoyed woodworking and collecting and restoriing antiques.
Survivors: five sone; Tony (Heather) of Newton; Timothy (Mari Emery) of Denver, Colorado; Jeremy Whiteside of Newton; Toby (Melissa) of Peabody; and Matthew Whiteside of Newton; one daughter, Rhonda (Craig Aden) of Ashkum, Illinois; two brothers, Michael (Greta) Koehjn of Elyria and Randy (Mary) Suypinski, both of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Andrea (Rober) Fitzwater and Karen (Bill) Rostine of Spriingfield, Missosouri; 10 grandchildren. He ws preceded in death by his parents.
A servicre of celebration and remembrance will be Wednesday, March 5 at the Church. Private family interment service will take place iin Greenwood Cemetery Newton.
